Visa On Arrival For Indian Expats With US Visa Or Green Card

Indian nationals will now be able to get a visa on arrival when traveling to the UAE, provided they hold a valid US visa or a green card.

The UAE cabinet approved this decision on Wednesday in a move that aims to further strengthen political and economic ties with India, according to state news agency WAM.

Any Indian passport holders who have a green card or a US visa with a minimum validity of 6 months will be issued a visa on arrival and can stay in the country for a maximum of 14 days. There is a one-time option to extend that duration by the same amount, for a total period of 28 days.

India is the UAE’s second largest trading partner, trading up to $60 billion worth of goods a year, and there are approximately 143 flights a day between both countries, which is roughly one flight every 10 minutes! Dubai is the most popular destination due to its reputation as a tourism hub, but Abu Dhabi has seen a rise in the number of Indian visitors as well, with a 15 % increase year on year.

Most recently, visitors from Russia and China were granted visas on arrival, which resulted in a massive increase in tourism over the first two months of this year. It is expected that this new move will cause a spike in the number of Indian tourists as well.
